SPPD partners with FDOT District Seven for safer roads
In an effort to make roadways safer, SPPD is partnering with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven through an Enhanced Law Enforcement Engagement (ELEE) program. From June 1, 2025, through February 28, 2026, we will expand law enforcement presence on state roadways with high crash rates, increasing public awareness of the importance of safe driving.

Shortly before 6 p.m., Friday, May 23rd, Officers responded to a stabbing at 364 1 Avenue North, Ahi Tuna. The wounded man, Dustin Hedenberg, was transported to Bayfront Hospital where he died.

The 7-11 Robber has been identified and is in federal custody. Justin Farley, 43yo, was arrested and charged with grand theft and burglary for a different burglary at Circle K, 1598 54th Avenue North. Just before 8:30 p.m. on May 5th, Farley entered Circle K and stole approximately $7,000 worth of lottery tickets.
